Sale Barn

Have several nice  horses for sale right now.  Some belong to me ( too many of them) and a few belong to friends but I want to help find the horses good  homes. Click on the Pictures to enlarge them.

LIBBY – 6 year old  1/2 Walker, 1/4 Morgan, 1/4 Quarter, 15.3   hands Solid Bay, Big Mare, Not a show horse, kind of big bone but a pleasure to ride on the trails.

This mare of all the horses is turning into a favorite around here.  On Jan 7, several of the girls were almost arguing over who was going to get to ride Libby.  Out of all my  horses, this horse is changing the getting really nice.  She has lots of potential and its showing!

So why do the kids like her?  Well because she is level headed, she doesn’t bolt when scared, she smooth and fun to ride at any gait.  She now loves attention but has a lot of personality.  She actually likes people now.  It seams like now that she has discovered she can trust us and we are very consistent in what she can and can’t do that she has accepted us as the leader.  AND she likes a good leader!

This mare does not bolt out of control even when very scary things happen around here.  We were riding down the rode when to our left up in a drive way, a guy started snow blowing with lots of noise and flying snow.  It spooked the horses good.  The front two who were a little ahead of the back too decided it was time to speed up, the back two which were my horse and Libby and her rider just asked our horses to stand still for a minute so we could figure out what it was.   Libby was scare but she stopped with a very light hold on the bit.  Once we say the guy blowing snow, we asked her and my horse to walk on and both did so.  I was amazed.  Very few horses would have stood there with the snow blower monster.  Also we passed a box with Balloons and she just looked and went as asked.  This is going to be one nice horse!

So why do I say she is changing? AND all for the good.  Because when she came to me in Aug, she did not like people very much, she seemed afraid that we were going to take  her food away, she just kind of didn’t want anything to do with us.  I could catch her and ride her with no problems  but on the ground we really watched her carefully for we didn’t trust her.  Now she loves people, wants to be scratched and brushed.  Stands perfectly for mounting, goes what ever speed you pick.  She is very playful and loves to run with the other younger horses.

She’s had two other Owners.  One who raised her until she was 5 years old then sold her to a lady who got a little afraid of her due to being aggressive at feeding.  I’m told that she was always thin so I suspect that’s where her aggressive came from, not trusting that she’s going get enough feed.  Now that she’s been here for nearly 6 month, she has learned she will be feed and treated right.  She knows her place but does have personality and will let you know if she doen’t like something, like me trying to remove her blanket in a snow storm!  She told me she wanted me to leave it alone but when I told  her to stand, for I was just checking it, she did just fine.  Now this was all with no halter, just out with hay.

She is the same wither ridden every day or once a month.  A very reliable horse.

Champ  13 year old Reg Tennessee Walking Gelding.  Champagne color ( very rare) Gentle,  about 15.3, great on the trails but didn’t get out much last year so is looking for new home.

Went and saw Champ over Christmas Break.  Talked to his owners.  He is a very will trailed but Spirited horse, not for a beginner as he can be a hand full sometimes to ride.  No bucking or rearing but full of energy and needs riding.  Has a beautiful gait, even on the lounge line.

$3200

Willow.

11 Year old Reg. Black TWH mare about 14.2.  has life and will get up and go down the trails when asked but has a wonderful smooth gait. She’s standing on a hill in this picture, she’s actually pretty good put together and has good breeding.  Will make a good riding mare but rider needs some experience as every once in a while Willow as gotten a little goofy on me. BUT she hasn’t been ridden all that much this summer or more than once or twice a month this winter.  On Jan 7 I took her out with 4 other horses, we lead then followed and she did great!     Has never bucked and not especially  spooky on the trails.  She likes to lead and goes where asked. $3000 I should work on better pictures!

PENNY- Walking Mule

This is a nice mule used for both riding and  packing.  She was born 2001.  Hasn’t had much work for the past two years.  Rides in a Sniffle, follows nicely but likes to lead.  She is 16 hands, not really a mule for a beginner as she might test  you a bit.   Easy keeper, has a Very fast walk, about 10 mph.  Owner has had her for about 7 years but now is moving out of state and can’t take her.  Needs a home who will use and appreciate her.  Will sell to approved home only.  $2500.  Sorry no pictures at this time as she is up on Lazy MNT running with a herd of horses.  I saw her 1 Jan and she looked fat and in good health.  If interested drop me an email from my contact page and I’ll link you with the owner.  He works nights  and doesn’t have email so is a bit harder to contact than I am.
